NEWS ROUNDUP
What happened during the Super Bowl?
Rafah massacre
Following up to Netanyahu’s threats to “finish the job” Israeli Occupation Forces began carpet bombing Rafah in timing that coincided closely with the start of the USA’s Super Bowl. This was a major escalation in their violence against Palestinians. Horrific pictures have emerged from the violence.
In related news, Biden referred to the IOF’s massacre of Palestinians as “our military operation in Rafah.” He later “corrected” himself, but we all know that the IOF’s operation in Rafah count not and would not take place without massive amounts of support from the USA.

Super Bowl propaganda
The State of Israel aired a 30 second $7M piece of propaganda during the Super Bowl this Sunday, vowing to bring “all the dads” home, because of course they did. I’m not going to say anything more about that, but please do watch the alternate “ads” below.

Rescued Israeli hostages
Reportedly, Israeli Occupation Forces rescued two Israeli hostages from the Rafah area during the massacre in which they killed more than 100 Palestinian civilians on Sunday. As both hostages are “dads,” and there appears to be some questionable editing activity on some of the news articles on the topic, many people find this timing suspicious and suspect that the hostages were actually rescued weeks ago.
The rescue of two hostages will never justify the massacre of more than 100 civilians.
But let’s get real, it doesn’t matter when these hostages were rescued. Am I glad that two people escaped with their lives? Sure. Does the rescue of two people justify the killing of more than 100 Palestinian civilians? HELL NO. There is no possible way you can believe that the rescue of two Israelis justifies the killing of more than one hundred Palestinians unless you believe that Palestinian lives are less valuable than Israeli ones. And if you believe that, you can kindly fuck off. Yes I’m mad, and you should be too.
Hind, aged 5, killed by Israeli Occupation Forces
A little five year old girl was recently found dead, after she was killed by Israeli Occupation Forces.
Hind was separated from her mother when they were trying to flee Gaza city. Hind was in a vehicle with her uncle, aunt, and their children when the vehicle was targeted by the IOF. Hind’s mother, Wissam Rajab, received a call from her (Wissam’s) 15 year old cousin, Layan, saying that the rest of the family was killed and asking her to call an ambulance. Then line went dead. Later, Wissam received another call from Hind saying that Layan had been killed and asking for help.
Two paramedics, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al Madhoun, were dispatched by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to rescue Hind. They even coordinated with the IOF in advance and were told that they would be allowed to rescue Hind. But contact was lost with the paramedics when they were about 15 minutes away.
Later, both paramedics were found dead, apparently killed by Israeli Occupation Forces when they were only 5 meters away from rescuing Hind. Hind was also found murdered.

US Senate approves aid package - $14.1B in genocide assistance for Israel
In the very early hours of Tuesday, Feb. 13, the US Senate passed an “aid” package that includes $14.1B in “security” (i.e. genocide) assistance for Israel. In a very very small victory, the border “protection” measures that Senate Republicans wanted added to the bill did not make it into the bill that was passed.
The bill now moves to the US House of Representatives which is controlled by the Republican Party. Passage of the bill is uncertain in the House, but not for good reasons: Republicans want to use this opportunity to add more draconian and fascist border “security” provisions.
What does this mean?
My best guess is that the House will refuse to pass a bill unless it includes those fascisct border provisions that the far far right wants. That means that in the next few weeks, a whole bunch of pressure will be on Senate democrats to add those fascist provisions into the funding package.
This brings us to two action items:
We need to pressure our Representatives (US House) to REJECT the aid package that just passed the Senate. If your Representative is a Republican, you don’t have to elaborate on WHY you want them to vote no - just tell them you want them to vote no on the funding package and leave it at that. But please do explain your reasoning if your Representative is a Democrat or an Independent.
We need to pressure our Senators to reject any aid package that includes additional border provisions, and that, if they get a chance to vote again on the topic, they will reject any aid package that includes any sort of aid to Israel.

Sorry folks, just made a correction to the above article. I originally incorrectly stated that it was the US Senate that passed the aid package late last night. That is incorrect, it was actually the US House that passed the bill.
